Direct Action is the eleventh studio album from experimental punks Alternative TV. Present during Britain's first wave of punk in the late Seventies, Mark Perry's group have steadily expanded into new territory on every one of their releases in the subsequent decades. The six instrumental compositions here are very, very far removed from any traditional understanding of 'rock' music, with textures, drones and disembodied vocals being the distinctive marks of these challenging yet sonically rich mixes.
