Play Dirty is the fourth studio album by British heavy metal band Girlschool, released in 1983 and produced by Noddy Holder and Jim Lea of hard rock band Slade. It has a very polished sound, full of keyboards, choruses and melodies, and includes covers of the Slade songs "High & Dry" and "Burning in the Heat" and of T.Rex's "20th Century Boy". Drummer Denise Dufort rated the album as her favourite of the band's career, saying it had a more mature sound and comparing it to Def Leppard. Girlschool are the longest-running all-female rock band, still active after more than 40 years. Throughout their career they have travelled the world, playing many rock and metal festivals and co-headlining or supporting major heavy metal bands. They have a worldwide cult following and are an inspiration to many female rock musicians.
