FELA KUTI - NOISE FOR VENDOR MOUTH (OPAQUE RED)

 

Released in 1975 during a particularly fertile period for the legendary Afrobeat pioneer, Noise For Vendor Mouth found Fela Kuti operating slightly his normal style. Like much of his mid-Seventies work, it consists of two side-long epics characterised by some quite dazzling instrumental breaks, with the scathing opening title track relying much more on scratchy, funky guitars.
