Released in 1976, Kalakuta Show was an incendiary album from Nigerian Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti. Documenting a series of incidents of police harassment and brutality that had culminated in a drug raid on his Kalakuta Republic commune two years previously, the two side-long tracks are both hypnotic exercises in the generation of lock-step grooves.
