Most musical collaborations are formed by a mutual taste or the same artistic approach, Swedish duo DEAD SOUL's sonic cosmos however evolves out of the stark contrasts between its creator's individual backgrounds: Vocalist/guitarist Anders Landelius also known as Slidin’ Slim has been a well-respected blues musician for more than a decade. Multiinstrumentalist/producer Niels Nielsen emerges from the electronic music scene, reveres alternative rock like Beck or Sonic Youth, but also produced such diverse acts as Ghost (pre-production and additional engineering on "Infestissumam") or death metal commando Maim. In 2012, they initiated DEAD SOUL with the clear intention to free themselves from their musical history and aim for a dark, aggressive, industrial blues that felt really strong and unique. Think Nick Cave meets Nine Inch Nails meets Johnny Cash. Profiting from the fact, that Landelius and Nielsen do not share the same "musical language", "The Sheltering Sky" demonstrates the will and passion to be unpredictable yet most certainly dark. DEAD SOUL will present "The Sheltering Sky" on tour all over Europe with Ghost in November 2015 and further hone their status as a truly thrilling and fascinating act.
