• BROADCAST FUNDRAISER FROM PATTI SMITH CIRCA 1998!
• In 1996, Patti Smith worked with long-time colleagues Lenny Kaye and Jay Dee Daugherty to record her sixth studio album Gone Again, featuring "About a Boy", a tribute to Kurt Cobain who had committed suicide two years earlier.
• In the wake of the album’s release, Smith toured Europe, then went back into the studio with pretty much the same band to make her follow up record. Peace and Noise was released on September 30th 1997, and featured the track ‘1959’ which was nominated for a Grammy Award the following year.
• Patti spent a lot of 1998 touring, including dates in Australia and New Zealand supporting Bob Dylan. On November 22nd, Smith performed at WXRT FM’s ‘Holiday Concerts For The Kids’, an annual fundraiser taking place at The Riviera Theater in Chicago. Performing a superb set drawn from across the girl’s extraordinary career, this stunning broadcast recording is now available here on vinyl for the first time.
