DISC 1 features a stunning set that Joe performed on local German radio on 1st May 2005 during a European tour. Predominantly featuring interpretations of classic rock standards, including Jimi Hendrix’s ‘Spanish Castle Magic’ and the Jeff Beck Group’s ‘Blues Deluxe’, the short setlist brims with Bonamassa’s unique interpretations and affection for the source material.
Next up on DISC 2 is Joe Bonamassa’s stunning show performed at the Piazza Governo in Bellinzona, Switzerland, on 28th July 2007. Featuring a healthy mix of Bonamassa originals and covers, the set ends with a rare rendition of Genesis’ ‘Los Endos’, delivered with the virtuosic aplomb synonymous with Bonamassa. A bonus track from the North Sea Jazz Festival in Rotterdam, recorded a fortnight earlier, is also included.
Concluding the set, DISC 3 captures Joe in Philadelphia as part of WXPN’s Free at Noon concert series on 14th August 2009. An incendiary performance by Joe and his band demonstrated why the guitarist is such a formidable live performer, treating the midday audience to an electrifying blues-rock set that will long remain in their memories.
