Para celebrar o 40º aniversário dos célebres Talking Heads e do filme-concerto de Jonathan Demme Stop Making Sense, o álbum será reeditado no dia 26 de julho nos formatos 2LP e 2CD/Blu-ray. 

A versão 2CD/Blu-ray inclui um livreto de 28 páginas com fotos e notas redigidas por todos os quatro membros da banda - Tina Weymouth, David Byrne, Chris Frantz e Jerry Harrison - e uma mistura Dolby Atmos do concerto completo, misturada por Jerry Harrison e E.T. Thorngren, que também misturou o lançamento original. 

A banda sonora do filme oferece uma retrospetiva da banda até essa altura, com 18 canções dos seus seis álbuns de estúdio. 

Aquando da estreia, em setembro de 1984, Stop Making Sense foi um triunfo artístico e comercial. As pessoas dançavam nos cinemas e a banda sonora vendeu mais de dois milhões de cópias. Em 2023 a Biblioteca do Congresso acrescentou Stop Making Sense ao National Film Registry em reconhecimento do seu significado cultural, histórico e estético.
