Riverside from Poland have increased the variety of their debut album which was praised by critics: elegiac guitar soli are changing with dark keyboard sounds, there are creative, partly complex guitar riffs, powerful drums, unusual bass lines, and Mariusz Dudas' varied vocals which is ranging from headbanger shouting to wonderfully detailed harmony lines.
Second Life Syndrome got all that what lovers of powerful and sophisticated (art) rock like - be it dark soundscapes, uneasy sound cascades and psychedelic soli as well as mighty rhythms and sumptuous dark wave and middle heavy metal. To sum up: not just something for fans of Opeth, Anathema, or Porcupine Tree.
