• Brazil’s Milton Nascimento is a musical giant. His eponymous third album, first released in 1969, built on his breakthrough in 1967 and period of recording in America.
• This album, Milton Nascimento, was Nascimento’s statement that although he was known in America, he was back in Brazil, for Brazil and of Brazil.
• Milton Nascimento was where his backing band, Som Imaginaro – although not credited under that name – were first heard.
• Milton Nascimento is distinctively Brazilian, but has influences drawn from European and American pop and jazz, including tinges of what would later be called progressive rock. The album’s voice is unique.
• Milton Nascimento is touring the world during September and October and will visit the UK – the reissue of this milestone of Brazilian music is timely.
• It has not been available on CD since 1994.
